Bridging the world with technical English

Know, Learn, Improve
Simplified Technical English for Everyone

Aiming for Correct, Clear, and Concise English

Technical writing can be hard—both for the writer and for the reader. A text that is correct, clear, and concise will be much easier to produce as well as understand.
Not just writers but speakers also must ensure that their information is conveyed accurately to all parties, even to those who might be in a rush.
Our experience shows that simple sentences that convey only the necessary information are better than long and winding roads littered with unnecessary words.

The Technical English Association of Japan (TEAJ) is committed to helping Japanese speakers become more effective when communicating in technical English. Through training programs and lectures, TEAJ encourages Japanese engineers, researchers, and businesspeople to learn ways to effectively deliver what they want to say. Join us to learn ways of communicating intentions and information correctly, clearly, and concisely.
Many Japanese speakers aim to acquire as close to native English as they can, but unfortunately “native” doesn’t necessarily mean clear and understandable.
What is English that works with anybody? Simple English. And what is simple is easy to learn. It works with native speakers and non-native speakers alike.
To learn technical English is to learn simple English. Good technical English bridges native and non-native speakers, serving as an efficient medium of communication across different cultures. It will work as a true common language.

TEAJ supports English communication for all people
—students, businesspeople, writers, translators, and more.

TEAJ helps you learn the skills you need to correctly use simple English.
Technical English works even in non-technical fields. Our support extends to companies, universities, research institutes, and individuals in Japan.
And like technical English, our activities are relevant even beyond technical fields.

TEAJ supports English communication for all people —students, businesspeople, writers, translators, and more.
